Construction Notice!

Hello General Stewart Families!

We have just been informed by the City of Lethbridge that they will be repaving the alley behind the school. Construction and paving will start on October 23rd and will continue for approximately 4 weeks. As I am sure you can appreciate, safety is our primary focus and so the entries and exits through the fence to the alleyway will have temporary fencing put up in front of them to prevent people from using them. In addition, there will be heavy machinery that will be located in the alley during this time. So, this also means that the alleyway will not be accessible for drop offs or pickups during this time and the alleyway will have signage up and barriers up to prevent access to the alley. Therefore, this means that we will only have the front of the school available for pickups and dropoffs. With this increase in the number of students that will be coming and going in the morning and after school, it is especially important that we are being safe. Just a reminder, 30 km speed zones now apply from 7:30 until 9:00 pm, you may not park on or near the crosswalk, no U-turns in front of the school and please be extra cautious and aware when you are driving around the school. Nothing is more important that keeping our children safe so be extra diligent. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation in this matter.
